Tool spotlight — CodeFlying test + how to publish H5 to mobile.
I tried building an app on my phone (here’s what actually mattered)
I didn’t plan to be impressed.
I’ve tested enough AI builders to know the pattern: strong demo, lots of promises, and then you hit friction the moment you try to do something real. Setup here. Integration there. Suddenly the “5-minute app” becomes a weekend project.
This week, I tried CodeFlying mostly to confirm my bias.
Instead, I ended up building a working mobile app on my phone in a few minutes and more importantly, understanding why tools like this are starting to matter.
Most people think the hard part of building apps is writing code.
It’s not.
The hard part is getting from zero to something real without losing momentum.
That’s where CodeFlying surprised me.
I typed one sentence: a simple to-do app with goals and a focus timer.
No configs. No choosing databases. No auth setup.
What came back wasn’t a mockup. It was a real product:
a mobile-friendly UI that actually felt designed for phones
a backend with authentication and data persistence
a dashboard showing users, logs, and activity
I didn’t touch Firebase. I didn’t open a laptop. I didn’t “prepare” anything.
That matters more than it sounds.
Because most beginners don’t quit due to lack of intelligence.
They quit because the setup tax kills motivation before progress begins.
I pushed it further with a habit tracker, animations, streaks, progress rings.
This is usually where no-code tools fall apart.
Instead, it worked. Smoothly.
And that’s when the real insight clicked:
This isn’t about replacing engineers.
It’s about removing the activation energy required to start.
When the first version is easy, people actually ship.
There are tradeoffs, and they’re important to understand.
CodeFlying lets you publish instantly as an H5 mobile app, one click, live link, QR code. For validation, MVPs, internal tools, or creator products, that’s enough.
But if your goal is the App Store:
you still need to download the source code
build the APK using Android Studio
and pay platform fees
$25 one-time for Google Play
$99/year for Apple
In other words:
CodeFlying accelerates the beginning. It doesn’t remove the ecosystem.
That’s a fair deal if you know what you’re optimizing for.
Here’s the broader lesson I’m taking from this:
Speed changes behavior.
When building feels heavy, we over-plan.
When building feels light, we experiment.
And experimentation is where clarity comes from.
If you’re a beginner, this lowers the intimidation barrier.
If you’re a creator, this shortens the idea-to-demo loop.
If you’re a founder, this is an MVP machine, not a final product factory.
Different tools. Different jobs.
If you want to see this built live, from one sentence to a working mobile app
👉 watch the full live build here.
That video will give you a much better intuition than any feature list ever could.
And if you end up trying it, reply and tell me what you built.
PS: 2025 is coming to an end, this newsletter will be much more active in 2026 :) Stick around
