No, AI won't replace you...
Here's the real advice from an Ex-Google, Twitter Software Engineer
How many times have you heard the “Do this or AI will replace you“ , well yes, I heard it too, and maybe I myself have said it in my videos ( sorry about that)
But here’s the real thing I have learned this week about AI or AI agents, and how its really impacting our jobs.
A bit of a storytime, this week I was tasked with coming up with a complete architecture revamp for one of our products, read that again, a complete architecture in 2 days.
When I raised that concern, here’s what one of my team members said “Its never too late“, what they really meant to say is “You got AI!!“
AI is essentially infinite labor for you, a task that used to take 1 week should be done in hours now. Just spin some parallel agents, doing different tasks, and you should be good to go.
What does this really mean for you? Adapt or disappear.
If you already have a job.. learning the AI tooling around your organization or even spending some time on weekends up skilling is a non-negotiable, if you’re not using them already to get faster, you’re falling behind.
If you don’t have a job, yes, the market is going to get tougher, you need to stop positioning yourself as a labour but rather as an architect. You need to show your skills in a way that shows that you can take charge of this infinite AI labor, you can manage, you can lead, you can verify.
And that’s it, for this week’s real unstructured knowledge.
